Notice period.

Term · Key dates

In short

A notice period is the time you must give the other side before you end a contract, or before you stop it renewing. Miss it, and the contract usually renews on the same terms.

What it means for you

If the contract renews by itself, the notice period decides the last day you can say no. After that day, you are usually bound for another term.

Where to find it

In the clause on term and renewal, and in the clauses on ending the contract. A schedule or an order form can change it.

An example

Fire alarm maintenance with Embrant ends on 30 September 2029 and renews for 24 months unless notice is given 120 days before. The last day to give notice is 2 June 2029.

How Gathersense helps

It reads each contract for its notice period, works out the date, and reminds the people who own the contract 90, 30 and 7 days before.
